Update On New Therapies

Marinus Pharmaceuticals announced that they are stopping development of a new medication called ganaxalone for the treatment of drug resistant focal seizures. The latest study, which was a phase 3 clinical trial conducted in many countries, did not show enough benefit in controlling seizures as compared to people taking a placebo. The drug will continue to be tested for use in status epilepticus and certain seizure and behavior disorders in children.
