Creating A Seizure Gauge
The Epilepsy Innovation Institute (Ei2) wants to better identify and understand the changes in the body that happen before a seizure on a timescale of minutes, hours, and days. We want to create a seizure gauge that continually assesses the likelihood of a seizure. This initiative is known as the My Seizure Gauge Challenge.

As we look to the future of seizure forecasting devices, we want your opinion about what device would work for you. Specifically, we want to know about your experiences with seizures, your input on seizure forecasting, and your opinion about whether a seizure forecasting device would be meaningful to you. Findings from this survey will influence work in the My Seizure Gauge Challenge and the future development of a seizure forecasting device.
Who is eligible to take the survey?
People at least 18 years of age who are either
- Living with epilepsy
- Primary caregivers
- Family members
How long will it take?
The survey should take around 30 minutes to an hour to complete.
What happens with the data?
- All information obtained from this survey will be presented in summary form, grouped with other responses so that no one individual can be identified.
- Your data will be kept in the strictest confidence and will be accessible only to people working on this study.
We recognize that this is a long survey and thank you for your time! Please answer all the questions to the best of your abilities.
