The American Academy of Pediatrics National Coordinating Center for Epilepsy and Epilepsy Foundation of America are hosting a 10-session learning collaborative:
Managing Students with Seizures ECHO: The Importance of School Nurses
- The sessions started October 24, 2019, and will end on April 2, 2020.
- Two time slots are available: 4:30 - 5:30 p.m. ET and 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. ET

What is Managing Students with Seizures ECHO?
The Managing Students with Seizures ECHO is an interactive forum for school nurses to:
- Increase knowledge and self-efficacy around managing students with seizures.
- Increase communication between school nurses, other school personnel, and parents to improve care coordination of students with seizures.
- Learn best practices to create a safe and supportive school environment for students with seizures.
- Gain access to resources to support the care of students with seizures.
ECHO ModelTM
This program uses the ECHO (Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes) model, a telementoring platform designed to create communities of learners by bringing together health care providers and experts in topical areas using didactic and case-based presentations, fostering an "ALL TEACH, ALL LEARN" approach.
- Using basic, widely available video conferencing technology, clinical management tools, and case-based learning, health care providers develop knowledge and self-efficacy on conditions and/or processes.
- Participants will meet regularly for 10 sessions.
- All attendees are strongly encouraged to actively participate during each virtual ECHO sessions.
- Technical assistance will be provided prior and throughout the launch of the program

Eligible Participants
School nurses are eligible to participate on the virtual learning network. School nurses are strongly encouraged to invite other school personnel to join as applicable.
Registration
Participants are encouraged to attend on a regular basis will receive a certificate of completion, which can be submitted to respective accreditation bodies.
