Jenny LaBaw
Jenny LaBaw grew up in the Colorado Rockies with an active family and has spent her entire life embracing the outdoors and treating it as a natural playground. As a 3-sport collegiate athlete, she competed in soccer, as well as indoor and outdoor track and field. Post college she found her need for competition fulfilled through running endurance races, anywhere from 5Ks to marathons. Her competitive drive led her to CrossFit in 2010 where she started training to compete at the elite level.
Jenny is a 2-time Reebok CrossFit Games competitor, earning 6th place in 2011 and winning the Northern California Regionals in 2012. Jenny has chosen a career as a strength and conditioning coach so she can share her passion of health and fitness with others. Attending Cornell College, she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Physical Education with an emphasis in Fitness and Wellness. Her 10+ years of coaching experience has allowed her to work directly with a wide variety of people from children trying to discover their coordination to adults wanting to shed a few pounds to professional athletes looking to be the best in the world. No matter what walk of life a person is coming from, Jenny’s mission is to make each individual realize and reach his or her potential.
Jenny lives with epilepsy. She was diagnosed with epilepsy at the age of 8 years. The cause was a scar that developed on her brain from childhood meningitis. Jenny experiences tonic-clonic seizures (formerly known as grand mal seizures) that are controlled by medicine but leave her with a constant tingling sensation in her left arm. In 2012, she released a video to the public, Jenny LaBaw: Living with Epilepsy, briefly explaining her journey through life with epilepsy and how she has overcome the challenges.
