Geoff Pope is a vice president at ECBM, a large risk management firm based in Philadelphia. Prior to starting his career in insurance, Geoff played for four years in the National Football League. His rookie year ended with winning a Super Bowl Championship as a member of the 2008 New York Giants. Geoff also played with the Cincinnati Bengals and Philadelphia Eagles before suffering a career-ending injury. He subsequently returned to Eastern Michigan University to complete his business degree. He graduated in 2011 with a B.B.A. in marketing.

Geoff began working with the Epilepsy Foundation in 2008. Several years prior, his grandmother began having seizures due to complications from brain surgery. He was asked to attend the National Walk for Epilepsy in Washington, D.C. as an NFL player in support of his grandmother. Geoff wanted to help establish a strong initiative geared towards helping athletes with epilepsy across the country. Those discussions came to fruition and shortly thereafter, the Athletes vs. Epilepsy initiative was launched.

Today, Geoff co-chairs Athletes vs. Epilepsy with his close friend, Samuel Estes. Geoff and Sam’s relationship stems back to Eastern Michigan University where they first met as college football teammates almost 15 years ago. Geoff is glad to lead this initiative with Sam as they actively work together to make it a success.
