- What type of health care provider should you see for epilepsy?
- What is an epileptologist?
- What’s an epilepsy center – do you know where to find one?
- Who else besides a doctor should I see to help with my epilepsy and how it affects my life?
These are common questions we hear all the time.
Some people whose seizures are easy to diagnose and treat may be followed by their primary care provider. Epilepsy comes from the brain and it makes sense for people to get care from a doctor who specializes in the brain. When epilepsy is hard to diagnose or seizures continue despite treatment, an epilepsy specialist is needed. Since seizures and epilepsy affect people in many ways, there are other types of people who can help you too.
