EpiTalk Chat is Back!
Epilepsy News From: Wednesday, April 15, 2015
Community Corner: April 15, 2015
Talking - one-on-one, in groups, live, or online – can make so much difference to people with epilepsy families and other caregivers. Talking helps so you don’t feel alone. You can feel supported by people who really understand. And you can learn things about living with seizures that you don’t hear from your health care team. This type of experiential learning and support is critical for people living with seizures and epilepsy.
We have upgraded our chat to be more secure, easier to use, and have some new features.
- It’s still available on all devices – desktop, laptop, and mobile devices.
- It’s fully responsive so you can see what’s going on with different sized devices.
- You can talk in groups or private message one-on-one with someone who is logged in.
Right now it’s available from our Connect section by clicking on the Chat landing page. Soon we will have it accessible from other parts of the site too, so you can chat while using other parts of the site.
So, come on in and chat a while. Come alone and make new friends. Or bring friends with you and introduce yourselves!
You’ll see some helpers in chat and around the community at times. These helpers (called community mentors) are people like yourself who volunteer in our community. They’re here to help people learn about our community, use the chat, get questions answered, and find their way around.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Look forward to seeing you in our new EpiTalk!
