Epilepsy Foundation of America Elevates Danielle Solomon to Leadership Team as Chief Human Resources Officer

BOWIE, Md., January 13, 2025 — The Epilepsy Foundation of America is pleased to announce the promotion of Danielle Solomon, SPHR, SHRM, SCP to the role of Chief Human Resources Officer. Since May 2019, Danielle has served as the Foundation’s Vice President of Human Resources. In this new role as Chief Human Resources Officer, Danielle will oversee the Foundation’s human resources strategy, which includes developing a more people-centric approach and HR strategy. Danielle will also help the Foundation to create a culture of empowerment, engagement, and accountability. She will work closely with the Foundation’s people managers to clearly identify and effectively manage the skills and strengths of the current Epilepsy Foundation team and will continue to address the needs of our multi-generational workforce.

Over the past 5 and a half years with the Foundation, Danielle has played a pivotal role in building a centralized HR function and infrastructure to sustain and support a thriving and engaged workforce. Her key achievements include:
- Developing and centralizing HR functions for both national and chapter teams, with a focus on recruiting, onboarding, performance management, compensation, benefits, and compliance.
- Transitioning the organization from a 100% paper-based HR system to a fully paperless, automated function accessible to practitioners, employees, and managers.
- Supporting the Foundation through changes, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
- Creating opportunities to foster employee engagement by coordinating monthly global all-staff meetings and virtual staff retreats.
Danielle has also participated in impactful outreach initiatives, such as creating the June 2024 Epilepsy Foundation booth at the First Baptist Church’s Annual Health and Wellness Expo in Glenarden, MD. This program reached a congregation of over 11,000 members and expanded awareness and education efforts for the epilepsy community.

Danielle holds a master’s degree in human resources management from Keller Graduate School of Management of DeVry University and a bachelor’s of science in business from Virginia Commonwealth University. Prior to her work with the Foundation, Danielle was director of human resources for the National Association of Independent Schools for more than six years. In total, Danielle has more than 24 years of human resources experience within HR roles for global and national nonprofits and corporations.
