Documentary on Epilepsy Airing on PBS

“SEIZED: Inside the Mystery of Epilepsy” began airing on PBS this month. A production of Partisan Pictures and presented on PBS by Twin Cities PBS/Minneapolis-St. Paul, this hour-long documentary follows the personal struggles of four individuals and their families as they face the challenges of living with epilepsy and courageously search for new treatments. It features leaders in epilepsy research, including:
- Dr. Orrin Devinsky, epilepsy.com editor emeritus and director of the NYU Langone Epilepsy Center;
- Dr. Robert Finkelstein, program director of the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke;
- Dr. Karen Parko, Epilepsy Foundation Professional Advisory Board member and national director of the Veterans Affairs Epilepsy Centers of Excellence; and
- Dr. Brandy Fureman, Epilepsy Foundation vice president of research and new therapies who was with the National Institute of Neurolocial Disorders and Stroke at the time of filming.
