The Epilepsy Foundation Multicultural Outreach Program announces the availability of funds to award up to 10 Social Determinants of Health (SDOH) mini grants during fiscal year 2024-2025. These grants help to address education related determinants of health that impact people living with epilepsy.
Grant funds of $10,000 per applicant will be awarded to Epilepsy Foundation affiliates and epilepsy-related community-based organizations that are in collaboration with multi-sector agencies, such as colleges and universities, school districts, health departments, rural health agencies, health coalitions and associations.
The following national partners are considered multi-sector organizations and have agreed to link their members to epilepsy agencies for this funding opportunity: American Public Health Association, Society for Public Health Education, National Area Health Education Center Organization; and National Rural Health Association. Local chapters or affiliates of these national organizations are also suitable partners for this funding opportunity: American Bar Association, National Disability Rights Networks, NAACP, Urban League, Consortium of African American Public Health Programs, National Association of School Nurses, Association of Higher Education and Disability and Transition Orgs, such as Got Transition. This is a limited competition application process that is funded through the cooperative agreement between the Epilepsy Foundation and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
