$1 Million Shootout to Benefit People Living with Epilepsy

Athletes vs Epilepsy $1 million Shootout

Epilepsy News From: Tuesday, April 04, 2017

On Monday, April 10, Athletes vs Epilepsy Ambassador and professional golfer Jeff Klauk and Perfect Golf Event will hold the first $1 Million Shootout to benefit the Epilepsy Foundation’s Athletes vs Epilepsy initiative and the Epilepsy Foundation of Florida. Held the day after the end of the Masters Tournament, this charity event will take place at The Palencia Club near St. Augustine, Florida.

“Raising awareness and funding for epilepsy research is my passion,” Klauk said. “My life was changed by this disease, which affects 3 million Americans and 65 million people worldwide. Funding from government sources is much less than other diseases, so Perfect Golf Event is a great resource for organizing this event and other tournaments to raise money for causes close to people’s hearts.”

Event Features

  • A course setup of nine regulation holes and nine par 3s
  • Each par 3 offers $10,000 for a hole in one
  • The nine players who are closest to the hole on the designated par 3s will qualify for a day-ending shootout where a hole in one earns $1 million. The payout includes $500,000 to the winning individual and $500,000 for the Epilepsy Foundation of Florida and Athletes vs Epilepsy. If there is no hole in one in the shootout, the player closest to the hole wins $1,000.
  • A long-drive contest
  • A putting contest where if someone makes a 50-foot putt in the finale the prize is 2018 Masters Tournament badges
  • Professional golfers and athletes from other sports expected to participate

“We are supportive and excited about Jeff’s efforts to grow awareness of epilepsy as a member of the Perfect Golf Event team with this event,” said Bruce Lucker, CEO of Perfect Golf Event. “In our first 22 months, the company has worked with thousands of tournaments and this is another cornerstone event where we can truly help make a difference. Jeff’s expertise and energy are continuing to make Perfect Golf Event the most robust digital platform for golf tournament organizers who focus on fundraising and special events.”
