Treasurer and Immediate Past Chair

Robert (Bob) Smith is currently serving as Treasurer of the Epilepsy Foundation. Bob received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Delaware and his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Virginia. He also has extensive experience in investment management through his work as a stock analyst and portfolio manager at both MFS and T. Rowe Price.

Bob previously served as the interim president and chief executire officer for the Foundation. Prior to that period, he served on the Epilepsy Foundation Board of Directors for almost seven years where he was Board chair and chair of the Investment Subcommittee of the Finance Committee.

Bob enjoys spending time with his family – his wife, Terri, and his three children, one of whom is directly affected by epilepsy and is now seizure free after undergoing successful brain surgery in 2016. When he’s not volunteering for the Foundation, he also shares his expertise by serving on several corporate boards. He also enjoys writing poetry and outdoor activities, such as hiking, skiing and cycling.
