During my last seizure I bite my tongue. It has been hurting now for a couple days now. Does anyone know a good treatment for a bitten tongue?

When I was younger I would have small seizures and and I would remember them. They were frustrating more than anything. The grand mal or tonic clonic seizures that I have now I have no memory of and I almost always bite up my tongue.

I have the same question as you: What can I do about my severely destroyed tongue?  I also bite my tongue with every grand mal seizure that I have and have had my tongue stitched up several times in the past.  Right now, half of my tongue is extremely deformed and drags across my teeth all of the time, and causes constant pain.  I went to see a neck and tongue surgeon a couple of months ago to pursue surgery for my tongue.  He told me that he had surgically removed a sliver of a patient's tongue one time in the past because he had done the same thing to his tongue by having seizures.  The doctor never had a follow-up appointment with this patient though, so he couldn't tell me how successful his surgery was for the patient.  I am dying to hear from someone who knows of a way to treat this problem.  I not only need to find a way to prevent future tongue biting, I also need to treat my tongue for it's current condition.
