I have a 6 1/2 year old Daughter that just had her first seizure after turning 5. They also told me that her seizure would end at 5. She has had multiple seizure starting from infant all the way to 4 1/2, then they stop I was so excited. Until this last Saturday where the whole event lasted over 45 minutes.. I really thought she was brain dead. It was nothing like the other ones she had. The other seizure she had would start by fever then she would stare around the room then go into full seisure they would end within 5 minutes or so. This last seisure her tempurate only got up to 102 and then I lowered it with wet rages and tylenol and when I went to check her temperature again she has already dropped down to 100.9 and lowering.. Then all of a sudden she did her blank stare and I knew here we go again. I grabbed her and brought her to the bathtub while running lukewarm water all over her body.. She then went limp and I couldn't hold her so I took her to the shower and struggling to hold her I ran water on her again then I brought her to the bathroom floor where she was still looking with a blank stare but had not seized yet.. About 10 minutes of me asking her if she could see me she started shaking her left arm only and foaming at the mouth while her lips turned blue. I called 911 and waited for them to come in a panic. The ambluence came and they couldn't revive her either she didn't return to us for a full 45 minutes or more. It was the scariest day in my life. She has had a EEG test and it was normal. The doctors say this is normal.. But I am scared it is not. I would like to know where to take her to be tested again.. Anyone know? Thanks for your help in advance

my daughter had her first febrile seizure at the age of 14 months. we were told she would outgrow them and all her eegs and mris were normal. she had another one today and was taken to the er. she had a temperature of 101.2. her mri came back normal but the doctor said she should not be still having them at her age. they were going to give her a seizure medication for today and told us to follow up with her pediatrician in the morning. i declined for her to take the seizure medication because they said her mri was normal and she did present with a fever. i was so upset they were ready to diagnos her with epilepsy just because of her age although the fever was present. we plan to see a neurologist soon. i have searched for a sight regarding other people who's children did not outgrow febrile seizures at age 5 and was glad to be able to talk to others who know what i am going through. i pray daily that my daughter outgrows these seizures. i feel so helpless when she has them.
