SO, IF YOUR LIFE DOESN'T COUNT FOR ANYTHING, MAYBE YOU SHOULD CONSIDER THE PEOPLE WHO LOVE YOU, WHO DON'T WANT TO SEE YOU HURT, WHO HAVE TO LEARN TO DEAL WITH ONE WHO HAS E AND CHOOSES TO MAKE THINGS MORE DIFFICULT. AND THINK ABOUT THE PEOPLE WHO MAY BE YOUR VICTIMS, WHILE YOU THINK YOU ARE HAVING A GOOD TIME. OK, so you're saying that someone with a question shouldn't bring his/her question to a website devoted to information about epilepsy because *you* think it's stupid? Why on earth would this question be stupid? It's way more stupid to wonder about something and never ask the question at all.
Marijuana is prescribed to treat epilepsy in a lot of states. Just like Keppra, or Dilantin or whatever other med is prescribed to treat epilepsy. Would it still be a stupid question if someone asked about those meds?
This is one of the most judgemental, disrespectful and least helpful replies I've ever seen on this website.

Hi all,
I've read through all of your comments and thought it good to post mine as well.
The question whether alc or M is good or bad is in a way something you can call contraversial. It is known that drinking alcohol decrease the effect of AED and indirectly may cause seizures. Thus, it isn't that Alcohol spurs your E on but merely decrease the effectiveness of your AED. However, it is important to know that everybody responds differently to alcohol, there are many factors to take into account ie your body wieght, lenght, prescription AED, amount of Alcohol etc. In general it is not wise to drink to much but as we all know things does get out of hand. Just be cautious, you,more than anybody, know your E.
In re Marijuana: Studies have shown that in some patients (mice were tested) M decreased the possibility of a seizure and in other cases increased the risk. There is no definate answer and like everybody, doctors and neuros, always tell you - Everybody responds differently to everything and nothing is sure..... In light of the above it is very risky to smoke M without really knowing what effect it has on you. You can just as well be busy spurring on a seizure! I tried it a few times at varsity and wham! I had two grand mal seizures in two days (they are normally about 6 months apart). Evidently it didn't work for me. In the long run I wouldnt advise anyone to take such a risk nor smoke M (or atleast not to much) because of other health reasons and of course the illegality issue...
