Smoking marijuana and drinking

I was just reading on this website all of the forums about drinking and smoking cigarettes and how bad they are for you. It didnt say anything about weed and I smoke weed maybe once a week or once every two weeks and is it bad for having seizures? Also if you drink maybe two beers to three beers once a weekend is that bad?

I am 43 now and have smoked weed for about 30 years, alot. My epilepsy is caused by injury at birth. I started having grand mal seizures about 8 yrs ago. Now I could say that maybe my grand mals were set off by using some other illegal drugs however, I had only did that a couple of times. I wont do cocaine anymore. At this point in my life I wont stop smoking weed because my doctor has never told me not to. But I won't condone doing any other drugs or drinking alcohol. However everyones epilepsy is different so do whatever makes you feel good. Within reason of course.

your question is answered by my piece called respect your epilepsy. it has a insert in it from research from 2 prominent specialists on sudep. read it, that will give you the answer you will need on why not to drink or use illegal drugs with epilepsy. and yes weed is still illegal and you dont know what its been laced with so who knows what chemicals you are actually breathing in and effecting your brain. i hope you and everyone else who take this subject so lightly will understand why the mortality rate for epileptics is higher than the natioal average, its sudep.
