FCC Regulations on flashing graphics on television

Fri, 09/07/2007 - 13:08
I've discussed the matter with commissioner Adelstein and he thinks it would be a fine idea. Anyone have any opinions on this matter? I don't think these sorts of things only effect those of us with epilepsy. Those with Chronic Fatigue and it's variants surely are bothered by this, especially since most who have such problems usually spend hours in front of the tube or computer screen to pass time.

And I STRONGLY dislike the "oh I just wont watch it if I dont want to" jive. My last job I had I worked in a room where the damn tv was on 24/7 turned to FOX news...bad enough as is but I had to put my desk in the back corner so I wouldnt see all the flashing crap. It's pretty embarrassing and painful after awhile. Any restaurant you go to anymore has tons of tvs because people can't live without them anymore so what...just dont go out to eat anymore??!?! I could give countless examples. And that whole "government intervention" line...come on. Reagan is dead and the cold war is over. Lets be realistic here.

Just don't watch it sounds like good advice to me.

Let's not forget the people who want to ban others from wearing perfume. So we've got a ban on peanuts, perfume, flashing tv's...
