Is anyone using LAMICTAL

I have just been diagnosed with epilespy. I am on my 5th week of medicine. I am on Lamictal. I have so many side effects from this stuff. It's bugging me. I'm 22 years old. Am I going to able to go back to school and finsish college? Has anyome my age had this and gone back to school and lived a regular life. I'm scared that i wont be able to.

My daughter just was diginosed with with absecnce seziures she will be 13 the 30 th of this month .They have put her on Lamictal my doctor told me that the side affect to watch her for would be rash has been itching but a little bit of rash but looks like excema.
I was was treated on phenabartial untill i got preg took my self off my medicine myself cause i was worried about clef palate .But i have had maybe 2 since then one was both were indiced by meds one was meperghan and tramadol the other was skelaxtion and tramadol .
My question is should i be concerned by her taking this ?

I am sorry. I didnt answer the first part of your questions. I have never used Lamictal. But if you are having side effects that are very much bothersome to you, I would talk to your doctor about them. And maybe see if they can find you a med that doesnt have so many side effects for you. I know when I first was on the Tegretol, it was awful. I was so sleepy, was vomiting, headaches - but then after awhile, they went away. But that was just after a week of being on it. Hope that helps.

Hi There. I was diagnosed with E at the age of 22 also. I also was in college, and engaged, etc. I thought my life would be over, especially when my drivers licesne was taken away. Luckily, I had friends who I could carpool with until I could get my drivers license back 6 months later. I was also lucky to find a medicine (Tegretol xr) that controlled my seizures for 17 years. I got married, finished college, and had two beautiful children. So, yes it is possible to live life almost normally again. You will be fine, and everything will work out. I wish you well with your new meds and hope they work out for you.
