The side-effects of Lamictal vary from one individual to another, both in nature and degree, like all AEDs, but they are less likely to manifest themselves if the dosage is increased slowly when you start taking it. On 200mg/d I have only one and it is tolerable in extent (poor sleep). Chris

Channing, For me, I have been having fatigue (more than with Tegretol alone), dizziness (especially when I wake up), poor sleep, and my mind feels pretty dead (like I am extremely tired). I also have lost interest in studying and so on. However, when I go to work I am able to keep busy and don't notice the effects so much (except a little dizziness). When I get home I just crash. I am on 75mg at lunch and 75mg before bed. I am also taking 200mg Tegretol XR twice a day. I have been on Lamictal for about three months now. According to my doctor's instructions, I have tried several times to bump the dosage up to 75mg at lunch, and 100mg before bed, and have kept this up for a couple weeks, but it never works, I feel way too horrible. I start to loose track of what day of the week it is. I hope to be able to try something else soon. Matthew

I was on Lamictal and it made me bi-polar. I was very emotional and sensitive to everything. I would check with your doctor if you having any side effects to this medicine
