Post Partum Seizures

Tue, 08/01/2006 - 15:49
After I had my first child one year ago Aug. 11th. I was doing good for about a month. And, then a month later I would start to get some seizures every once in a while. They have always been controlled by my meds. But when I do have them they are always when I wake up, all of a sudden, from a deep sleep. Or, when I didn't get enough sleep. Did anyone else have more seizures than normal after they had their baby?

My situation is quite similar to yours. I am not a person diagnosed with epilepsy until about a month after i gave birth to my son through c section i had my first seizure i only woke up in the hospital I've had several seizures after my first and they all happened in my sleep.. what really got me confused was the fact that i never had a seizure while I'm awake it was always during my sleep..... I somehow have a strong feeling that the c section have a lot to do with it. I've been on Dilantin since then its been months since my last seizure.
