Okay, finally someone with the same questions as myself. I've searched for 19 years. Mine started 2-3 days after a c-sec delivery. I've tried many meds but choose none of them as I would rather feel energetic between episodes rather than dizzy and sleepy consistently. I want to know why! I've been told genetics over and over again. I'm not buying that. Is there a connection with the epidural or childbirth itself? Let me know if you find anything out. I've been searching for years and met another woman just a month ago that experienced the same problems after the birth of her child. This needs to be studied!

After years of ttc, I became pregnant with my son. I had a picture perfect pregnancy then woke up from a nap to my water breaking. My son was born at 20 weeks gestation within the next 24 hours (April). One week after giving birth to my son I had my first seizure that I've ever had in my life. It happened in my sleep and my husband woke up to it around 8am. I don't remember anything that happens during but am in a lot of pain when I come out of them. My second seizure happened one week from then and happened in my sleep as well. I started taking seizure medicine within the next week. I had my third seizure in June while taking a nap. I thought my seizures only happened in my sleep. I didn't have another seizure from June 3rd-September. I read online about stress, etc and I thought I only had them since I lost my son/stress/depression from that. I quit taking my seizure medicine and thought I'd be alright since the severe depression was starting to go away and it'd been so long since I had one. In September I was standing in our kitchen cooking with my husband when I had my first seizure while awake. I never remember anything about my seizures but my husband says that was the worst one he seen. The only other seizure I have had since was literally this morning. I rode along to take my husband to work and I was fully awake in the car but ended up having a seizure on the way home. I haven't received any answers to my questions on 1:why? 2:is it because of my son/birth? 3:is this permanent? 4:Will this happen with every pregnancy I have? I've been to a neurologist and he said he seen nothing wrong in my brain at all and that he believes I have "complex partial" seizures.
