Hey nicole, my name is nick and i started having seizures at 17, half way thru yr12. i nearly left school because i was so scared of having a seizure in front of all my mates. i ended up finishing off the year and getting my certificate which has helped me alot in life. u really need to be strong about this as hard as it is. u r not alone as u probably well know. i am 21 now and have had over 100 seizures in the last few years, some in night clubs, at work and in front of friends, but life does not stop just because your brain does. you have to pick yourself up and get goin with life. i hope all goes well with your health and if you need to chat with someone my email is captain__cuddles@hotmail.comi know it's a gay e-mail address, my mate named it for me....... it's double underscore... hope to hear from you. all the best.

I'm 19 years old and I've been having seizures since I was 12. I've had a lot of seizures since that time, too many to count. I've been on 4 different medications. I'm currently taking 1200mg of Trileptal a day. 600mg in the morning and 600mg in the evening. It's a drag but you have to remember that it's all about your attitude. You have to try to keep a positive attitude about it. All my friends and co-workers know about my disorder, and they don't necessarily have to considering my seizures only occur in my sleep. From experience, I've noticed that people are usually sensitive about the subject and will be understanding toward it. Don't feel like your alone, and most people that are close to you will be willing to talk to you about your problem, but I know it's not necessarily easy to talk to someone who doesn't understand what you are going through. Stay positive, and never give up. I've realized that if I stress out about it, it will make me more prone to having a seizure. You'll be fine. I promise.
