I am currently taking 150mg in the morning and 200mg at night of Lamictal. I would like someone to talk to that is around my age and understands what i am going through. I have trouble talking about my epilepsy to workmates and friends and family. So anyone that can talk to me over msn or whatever would be greatly appreciated. My email address is nickelj@hotmail.comThanks

Oh gosh darn't. My son had epilepsy since infancy and his teen years were his hardest with trying to date (he has asthma and asked one girl out and she said she wouldn't go out with a "wheezer and seezer") and other atrocities. I so feel for you. He had one huge bonus in his life though. I had started a support group when he was five and he met 3 other 5 year olds with epilepsy and now at the age of 28 even though they all have epilepsy quite differently? They are all still each other's best friends and supports. I do think that was one of the most socially advantageous things that could have happened to him. They gave him what no one else could have which tells me, you're seeking that same sort of peer support and it is invaluable. I'm going to direct him to reading your post, and see if he answer you back. I think he could give you some valuable history of his regarding trying alcohol, driving, dating, embarassments, self esteem. He tends to reach out to others. A really nice person. One of his two little girls has epilepsy now and it's so cool because he's now going to the support group as a parent, the one I started when he was a little boy.Good luck sweetie. Always please remember on days when it seems the world is against you that this too shall pass, and it always does. I've had epilepsy all my life and didn't know it. I just thought I was nuts. For me having epilepsy is a lot better than - nuts.Gretchen
