Trileptol Side Effects

My name is Lisa and I am 32 years old. I live with Epilepsy and was taking Tegretol when my doctor switched me to Trileptol claiming that this medicine would be better on my body in the long run. I have been taking Trileptol for about a year and I started having dizzy spells with irritability. I told my docter this and he ordered a blood test and it came out normal (so he says). I am very concerned about this and would like to know if anyone else has had these side effects also.

I kept having seizures and they kept bringing up my dose of trileptal. I had double vision. they then lowed my dose, which helped. i noticed that if i drank coffee soon after taking my trileptal I also had double vision. Dialantin worked for me but caused me severe arthritis. I'm now seizre free after seizure surgery.

I had a very similar experience... I was just diagnosed this year and my doctor started me on Trileptal. It was horrible for me and I HATED it. It made me feel drunk, spaced out and stupid... couldn't even talk right. It also made me sick to my stomach and then I broke out in a rash.
My doctor switched me to Keppra also and this medicine works MUCH better for me. Still jumble my words occasionally and have experienced a loss of appetite which I keep an eye on now that I know about it... but I know longer feel like my hands are turning inside out and some of ther other acid-trip sounding things I experienced on the Trileptal.
