Tegretol

I am currently taking Carbamazepine (Tegretol) 400mg to be upped every 2 weeks until my seizures stop. Question is - Will I feel like a zombie forever? I know most meds make you feel drowsy and everyone is different but seriously do all meds make you feel like you're on another planet?

I am sorry that things didn't improve with the Tegretol. I hope that the Topiramate works well for you. If I remember correctly...remember I have a faulty memory...I do have Epilepsy after all...and take Lots of meds...where was I?...oh yeah...Topamax...that med...when I took it I was tingly in the mornings too.

Now I just feel like a grumpy cold zombie with a pounding headache, numb finger ends and no appetite. The only thing I'm liking is the no appetite!! Means I can hopefully lose some of the weight that the nasty tegretol made me put on!

Hi Quirky......... It didn't get better - hence my prolonged absence from the board. My memory is virtually non-existent and my moods are worse than ever!! I'm constantly tired and just appear to be 'doped up' all the time :( Finally got to see another consultant - not an easy process in this fair isle of ours. He has changed my medication to Topiramate so I'm hoping things improve, as I still wake up some mornings feeling tingly.
