300mg/d of lamictal seems a pretty high dosage of lamictal to be giving a four-year old child: 100-200mg would be a normal dose for an adult on monotherapy; 200-400mg/d when taken alongside an enzyme-inducing drug such as phenytoin (Dilantin/Epanutin) alongside it. Worth checking out. Chris

That sounds like way to much meds, I would be scared of the side effects. My 4 year old has 1 second seizures and IM holding off meds for now.

Yes, that does seem like a bit too much. My son is 4 years old and weighs about 35 lbs. He's on a total of 85 mg of Lamictal per day. It sounds like your doctor has reduced your child's medication, but you might have to consider switching meds if the Lamictal doesn't control her seizures. The Lamictal has done nothing to control my son's myoclonic seizures--in fact, they are getting worse--so it's time for us to look at other options. Best of luck to you.
