Weight and seizures

Mon, 05/08/2006 - 21:55
Can anyone tell me that if losing weight can help a person from having a lot of seizures? ...or is that just wishful thinking on my part???? :-) I'm slightly overweight and thought to do more exercises and start eating healthy again. When I'm stressed a lot I usually go for the food which is pretty bad to do so I'm going to try to kick the habit.....wish me luck!

I still feel fat nonetheless. I wish I had a magic wand to make myself thinner. I can do this I know I can...it's just a matter of "will" power, right? :-) Seizuregirl "Life is what you make of it"

Hello I have lost about 40 pounds over the last 2 years. I have managed to stay at a healthy fixed weight for the last 5 months on a vegetarian diet. I feel very energetic and not so depressed. This in turn allows me to get out and exercise and garden as well as just getting out of bed everyday. I have been told that exercise can raise the seizure threshhold. I would say in the end when one feels good and healthy it reduces the impact of any seizure triggers. I don't think it is wishful thinking on your part; it is realistic. Good luck!

Being a vegetarian is not a bad thing to do, but then I get so tempted to eat "bad" food. I tell you the temptation sometimes can be too great for me. I already broke my promise to myself to diet today 'coz I went to an all you can eat restaurant with my family. There's always tomorrow........."fingers crossed". I need help...definitely. It's too hard to diet alone. Seizuregirl "Life is what you make of it"
