Weight and seizures

Mon, 05/08/2006 - 21:55
Can anyone tell me that if losing weight can help a person from having a lot of seizures? ...or is that just wishful thinking on my part???? :-) I'm slightly overweight and thought to do more exercises and start eating healthy again. When I'm stressed a lot I usually go for the food which is pretty bad to do so I'm going to try to kick the habit.....wish me luck!

I cannot write if weight loss will help lessen seizures. I can write it will help you feel better both mentally and physically. I weighed 203 pounds and saw a picture of myself. I simply told myself, "Your Mother's Not A FAT ASS, Your Father's not a FAT ASS so your not going to be a FAT ASS!" At this point I weigh 169 pounds. My goal is 155. I can write I feel better mentally, but I still have problems with the herniated cervical and lumbar disk. I will probably have the cervical disk operated on, but not the lumbar disk. Good Luck, E_Loner

Thank you, both, for replying :-)It's very hard though to stick to a diet. I weighed myself today and found that I'm not 142 lbs anymore, but 144! I'm really scared about this. When I return to my country I'll ask around about finding a good doctor to help me with my diet. Seizuregirl "Life is what you make of it"

If you weigh 142-144 pounds you don't need to loose wait. I realize how tall you are may play into this, but don't worry about what others think. Why go to a doctor? I have always felt a doctor cannot help someone who is overweight, an alcoholic, drug addict, etc. The person must wanted to help themself first. What I am about to write does not pertain to you, but maybe it will help someone who reads your post and is overweight like me. A cousin of mine had her stomach stapled and she lost weight and kept on loosing weight. She almost DIED. I was told the doctor had to go back in and remove the staples. That is all that was said. My cousin is also one of those who will sue if someone with money FARTS. It is not HEALTHY to become a STICK in the wind Good Luck, E_Loner
