How do you know if you're having seizures at night?

Wed, 10/25/2006 - 19:49
A week or so ago, I noticed I had a pretty sore bruise on my elbow, and I have no idea how I got it. Then a few days later I found one on my forearm, still, I don't know where it came from. Also about a month or so before that I noticed I had bitten my tongue on the side and it was really sore, and once again, I do not remember doing that. I don't know if it's just my memory loss,a nd I don't remember doing this stuff or am I having seizures at night. All three were different situations. Any comments would be helpful! Nichole

"it,s not the crazy people you worry about---its the one,s that don,t know it. R.C hi I had nocturnal g/m,s for several yrs. I don,y think I ever had one where I was alone and I make a lot of noise and have hit my wife many times . I usally walk into the wall when I get up, off balance,, dreamy, a headache, confused, but I don,t get real sore until the next day and that,s when I feel like others said, beat up real bad, bruised all over, things like that . You know for you as dumb as it sounds ,hit the record button on a tape player before you go to sleep, get 120 min tape I think. its cheap and a solution. I wish you all the best Rick

Most of my seizures happened while I was asleep, or 3 days after missing a dose and then I would get this feeling in my stomach. this feeling was unique. There was no other feeling like it and once I felt it I knew a seizure was in progress. Anyway, When I had a seizure while sleeping,I woke up in the morning not knowing where i was. Also I either could`nt speak or if I could a completely different sentence can out of my month than what was meant to be said. By the way,,,,I`m new to this forum but have been epileptic for close to,if not more than 45years. My seizures have been controled for over 10 years so I have`nt been keepng up with the MD jargin. There are 3 levels or types of seizures that I remember, Pettymal, Grandmal, and one in between those. "nocturnal" is new to me, could someone please explain it. Mike
