How do you know if you're having seizures at night?

Wed, 10/25/2006 - 19:49
A week or so ago, I noticed I had a pretty sore bruise on my elbow, and I have no idea how I got it. Then a few days later I found one on my forearm, still, I don't know where it came from. Also about a month or so before that I noticed I had bitten my tongue on the side and it was really sore, and once again, I do not remember doing that. I don't know if it's just my memory loss,a nd I don't remember doing this stuff or am I having seizures at night. All three were different situations. Any comments would be helpful! Nichole

I always get a pimple on the edge of my tongue. That is usually how I know I had a seizure. SOmetimes, my husband tells me I had one. ANd most likely the seizure occurs at REM sleep time. Right after I fell asleep. take care Lisa http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/epilepsyapproach/

have partial complex seizures and find myself with the usual collection of bumps and bruises. I wander around I think to the bathroom as well. I try to always keep my bedroom door shut, because if I find it's open in the morning, it means I've had a seizure. also, if my bedding has been yanked to one side, I note that as well. I guess I drag the bedding when I try to get up. I don't know how wild a sleeper you generally are, but maybe try to set up pillows or the like that won't hurt you, but you can see if they've been moved.

My nocturnal seizures sometimes wake my wife up. The other night she was dreaming of earthquakes. When the earthquake got to to much it woke her up. That's when she looked at me and saw that I was the "earthquake" She let me sleep. The next morning I told her I felt like I had been ran over by a truck. That's when she told me about the earthquake.
