Does anyone have rapid heartbeats before a seizure??
Tue, 11/15/2005 - 09:33I am a 26 year old female and have had seizures for the about
6 years now. The cause is unknown. Every month or so I go
through "episodes" of rapid heartbeats. After a day or two they
stop and don't start again for another month. Other symptoms
include A tingling sensation, mood swings, and a really bad
taste in my mouth no matter how much listerine I gargle.
I don't always go into a seizure that lasts long but I have gone
into a grand-mal a couple times. The Dr. I've been seeing
doesn't think these episodes are seizure related and prescribed me paxil and then effixer. Neither worked and this Dr. suggested I see a shrink! I am changing to a new Dr. and am willing to have the brain surgery to stop these and have a normal life and eventually have children.

Hi, Just last night in bed, I noticed 8 super fast heart beats. My wife said what's wrong I told her about the heart beats. She said 2 minutes later I had a grand mall seizure. I am not sure If I had this happen before may other seizures , because I mostly have them when I am asleep. But like one of the other posters I too get the bad taste in my mouth.I have had every test there is . Of course I never have a seizure when I am hooked up to the monitoring device for that 3 day period.

i too get the heart pumping really fast.but i notice it right after or during an episode. i know im going to have one because my left arm and left side of face go numb. my left arm get sooo cold too. told dr about the heart and i was really worried .so he did an ekg and then another test with iodine put in my veins to really see everything. results: nothing wrong with the heart! so wiped out all the time now too. i didnt now i was breathing heavy after an episode either, till others pointed it out. i suppose that would be from the heart working harder. be in charge and insist of test when u are worried. what can it hurt. as im finding out and i know everyone here, you have to be your own advocate!. good luck...
