i have had complex partial seizures since i was 8. they r controled but not very well, i take lamicatl 200am 200pm and sometimes i get double vision and feel sick from it. also if i miss one dosage i have a all out seizure within 12 hours. i still have oras occasionally. my seizures r incredibly painful and i feel as though i'm sufficating. every time i have one i wish someone would kill me to stop it. i recover quickly though ijust get really tired and disoriented. anyway, i had some free testing done at NIH in va, an MRI and EEG. i have had these tests a few times before from my normal doctor, but was always told they didn't find anything. well NIH found something, they said i'm having tiny seizures in the right side of my brain that i don't know about. they also said it causes learning imparment and stop the brain from functioning correctly. also that surgery is an option and that it would help correct that, and stop or at least reduce my epilepsy. i've heard good things and bad things about the surgery and wanted some opinions on it.

-DP I just came out of surgery a week ago and I can absolutely relate to many of your issues. I am having numerous headaches and the only thing they gave me was Percaset. I can hardly put 2 fingers in my mouth and the only thing that was recommended was to chew gum and stretch out the muscles. I have also experienced many seizures, which was shocking to me, but I guess I will have to let time take its course. I am slowly starting to conversate more with others and accept that it will take more time for things to get back to normal life. Hope you wellness, David P.

I had surgery on my temperal lobe, about 6 years ago, and the surgery went great! I am finally back into all of my sports, aerobics and sports games, and I am doing fine at work. I am still on my medication, which was 200 mg carbotrol, but I just won't take the time to go do another test or risk not driving for a few months. It sounds like you are having a lot of problems and the only way you are going to help yourself is to have the surgery. Surgery stopped my seizures, aura and the pain that I had with seizures-major headaches! Please keep me informed on the choice that you make. Good luck, Debbie1202
