Is it best to shave your entire head or just the incision for surgery?

Hi, I had a right temporal lobe resection in June 2010 in London. The doctors only shaved the area above my right ear where they would make the incision and they did it at the beginning of the operation. They left the rest of my hair because they just covered it in a solution to prevent infection which although they joked it would be annoying to wash out caused me no problems at all. I have long hair so it did cover the area but it has grown back so quickly. Also I was warned about itching during regrowth but it hardly itched at all and caused me no aggitation. Only time I noticed any itching was when I slept but to stop this I just slept on my left side. Hope that helps

Wow, that gives me a lot of info. Thanks. Did you have a right or left temporal lobe lobectomy? Mine is left and I think it is going to be a big C incision but I'm not sure. I reckon I will find out more before the time comes. Do you have any speech or memory problems? I am really nervous about this surgery and I'm trying to get as much info as I can from people who have had it done. I guess I will let them do what they want with my hair, although if it has to be shaved all the way off, I'd rather go to a professional.
I thought I had a long drive! Cleveland Clinic is definitely worth it. Who is your doctor? Thanks for all the info, I really appreciate it.
