Any advise as I am new to this as to how not to become an over protective mother to my 10 year old with epilepsy? I seem to worry all the time about her though mostly I TRY NOT TO SHOW IT. DO YOU GET MORE RELAXED AS TIME GOES BY.SHE HASNT HAD A SEIZURE FOR A FEW MONTHS NOW BUT I AM ON EDGE JUST WAITING FOR IT TO HAPPEN - SHE HAS GRAND MAL SEIZURES AND IT IS REALLY SCARY.

Thanks for the responses. I have been reluctant to list his medications on the medic alert because it has been changed so many times...I guess I will just put epilepsy and maybe the doctor information. Thanks again. Chris

I am the same with my daughter - her medication keeps changing but I am going to get her one of these bracelets and just do as you suggest Chris

My daugher has been diagnosed since she was 14, (she is 19 now) I have been somewhat over protective and it's good to read others ideas about this. She has grand mals and has fallen and hurt herself a number of times. It's difficult to let her be a teenager and do everything others do. I just make sure she has her medic alert bracelet on and that she is with someone who knows what to do in case she has a seizure. lisabdcat
