Vimpat side effect itchy and severe dry skin

Mon, 04/10/2017 - 07:15
Hi, I have been on Vimpat for almost two years and am now reducing this because I get terribly itchy from it. Especially on my scalp, neck and arms it is so bad I'm scratching all day long and it is turning me crazy. Last week I stopped with Vimpat completely (now taking Keppra 1500mg twice a day), but the itching seems to be only worse then before. Does my body have to get used to not taking Vimpat anymore and will it get better over time? I'm wondering if anyone has experienced something similar. Thank you, Danique

Hi all, I'm also facing same issue of itching.  My neurologist prescribed lacoset 100mg tablet and oxetol 600mg tablet. Previously I was taking only oxetol 600mg two times by advise of previous consultant. But when I had attack of convulsion,  I changed the doctor and then he prescribed the same medicine adding lacosamide 100mg(lacoset). I have been taking lacoset since 3 months. But from week,  I am facing itchiness, swallowed skin. If anyone have a solution plz suggest me by email zrr1097@gmail.com

I have the same problem. I cannot walk outside or exercise without my whole body itching. My skin feels like it's on fire and I feel like I need an EpiPen.
