Untreated Partial Seizures of TLE

Sat, 03/28/2009 - 23:59

Is there any information about people with simple partials who don't undergo AED treatment?

Not being flippant here but seriously....what happens?

The side-effects of all the meds seem horrifying, and I don't lose consciousness,

Is epilepsy progressive?

Do these little seizures cause brain damage?

Don't know about the staring. My mum says I used to do that but I don't remember doing so. But my youngest daughter does it, which has me thinking about her possibly having inherited my epilepsy in some form. Sounds a bit like a seizure to me. There are so many different types of seizures out there....until you talk to your neurologist, provided you have a good one who knows epilepsy well, you won't know what's what. There are definitely seizures where you can be conscious - I know my TLE I am totally conscious and also responsive. WW

your and wonder woman's are extremely relatable to me. I also have left TLE and believe these are my partial seizures. The first step is the staring and zoned confusion that you spoke of pam. I do not want to stop, respond, snap out of it but if i dont make myself it leads to the deja vu. From there it is like heading down the rabbit hole. It takes every fiber of my being to not slip into a grand mal. I wrote much more extensively about this in a post today about my euphoric auras, and depression. Hope this helps it feels good to finally hear sensations which i actually relate to Jake
