Celt...400mg? Gosh, glad, very glad you aren't dead!!!
I just finally got up to 50 mg (or whatever) a day...(was supposed to be there a month ago) but it made me the exact opposite of you...soooo sleepy. I was sleeping about 18-19 hours a day. I couldn't function. I'm now trying to get to my prescribed dosage of 75 mg, but honestly, now that I'm stable, and kind of seizure free, I don't want to go through that again, but know I need to. Uggh...and to think that some people "fake seizures..."
Were you really on 400 mg/whatever a day....you must have been a zombie! Thank God you are alive!!! I just figured that..that is 8 TIMES what I am taking and I'm not really a small girl. WOW. I just hope you are on something that makes you stable now. I'm truly shocked! I hope you are ok, and I REALLY hope you are seeing the right Doctor...I am really wondering if you are..seeing if you saw someone who put you on that much Topamax. Was it an initial dosage (please say no) or was it a dose up? Just curious. Take care.

Maive,
I also saw a military doctor for my epilepsy. If you are on Tricare, you, CA and I felt I was on a cattle line getting branded. I have had epilepsy as long as I can remember and I knew if a med wasn't working for me I would refuse it. They got mad cause they were trying to push their new drugs on me. Most of the meds are given to docs to encourage them to prescribe them. I just tell them that I know my own body. I am on disability and battle depression from time to time. Get that doctor attention and let him/her know whats going on. After all, you are intitled to 15 minutes of each visit.
