carbatrol and menopause

I am a new PS sufferer of about 1 yr. I have been on carbatrol since diagnosis with fairly good control. My problem is I noticed I began to have hot flashes around the time of starting the carbatrol and my periods are lessing, thus it appears I am going or am in menopause. I am 49, the female history in the family is late 50's for menopause. Is there any research, evidence, anecdotal evidence of tegretol causing early menopuase and or seizures causing menopause? My concern of course is cancer to which I am not willing to deal with!Help!Stefany

Hi Lisa. Yes we have spoken before about this. I am off today to get the progerstrone cream. Sorry I haven't stopped in to check out your support group. I've had a lot on my plate (too much!!!) As you may have read I started some O2 drops about a week and a half ago. I feel 80% better (less seizure) than I did before. It has been the difference between night and day. Yea. Finally I am getting some relief from all the seizure. I'll try and get by to check out what you have going on over at yahoo soon. Have a seizure free weekend. I can't believe last week is kah-poot. I think I talked to you about this before. They have done the testing of progesterone in the past. I dont know if it is out at this time. But I use progesterone. I feel much better since I started.
