I am on Keppra as an add-on to Depakote. Soon after I was put on it, I noticed that I had strong spells of anxiety at certain times (stressful situations). When I told my neuro, he referred me to a shrink. My experience with doctors has been in general that they tend to downplay side effects, at least when it won't kill you. So becoming a zombie or feeling like a nutcase is okay, as long as you're not allergic. : ) Appreciate the input here!

I've been on Keppra since Friday night and I'm very sleepy-- my neuro said that usually goes away in a week, so I'll see how I feel this weekend. I also have no appetite, but it's not necessarily because of the Keppra-- I lose it sometimes for no reason.

I've been on Keppra as monotherapy since I was diagnosed 5 months ago, and it has worked extremely well. I have been seizure free (I have SP's, and one GM) since I started it in late September. I have definitely experienced the Keppra "rage" that is so widely reported, but 100 mg of B-6 daily keeps that under control. I do feel more fatigue by bedtime then I did prior to taking it, but that only means I sleep better!
