How many of you work and what do you do?

Wed, 10/11/2006 - 12:37
I have been diagnosed with E for 9 years but had them since I was at least 7. I have worked since I was able to work. Part time as a teen-ager. Then when I got married at 18 (8-S) I worked full time and have sine then, besides a year for school. I am to the point now, though, that I feel I am almost not able to anymore. I am having a hard time dealing with this. I'm being really hard on myself my husband and family says. I know I can't help having E. I know I have tried to work all these years with it. But now that is it getting worse and I am on more meds , I don't think I can hold on much longer. I feel so guilty about it. I'm messing up at work, and when I do that at my job, its a big deal. I don't know, I guess I needed to vent. Thanks for listening. (((Hugs)))

I have a partial seizures that can become generalized if they are bad. I can have a variety which are all part of the same development, being more or less intense. The development is: Fuzzy face, weak arm, shocking feeling in arm, salivation and partial loss of awareness, black out, convulsions. They usually stop at the salivation stage. By the grace of God the Seizures are not too much of an issue, the drugs are more problematic. I have been on Tegretol since I was young. I am hoping to get on something that works better for me. I tried Zonegran earlier this summer. The Zonegran worked well but made me depressed, and very, very sedated (ZZZZZZZZZZZ). Right now I am taking Tegretol XR and Lamictal. The Lamictal allows me to function pretty well at work, but I am not good for much when I get home. Seizure control is not so good either, so I hope to try something new soon. I can't imagine having kids and everything! That's a lot of work even when you are healthy!

Hi I was i guess what everyone on here would call recently diagnosed with episepsy,,,4 and a half years ago now,,, seems like so long ago .. i left my job,,to much multi tasking,,,went on disabilty,,,i am now at the point where i am counting the days between seziures instead of hours which is great,,,, almost two years ago now,,i had a small stroke,,recovered nicely from that,,only to be told a few weeks ago that i have MS..Im not quite sure where that will lead me in the medication department yet,,we shall see in the next three weeks when i go to the ms clinic.... Im now a full-time stay at home mom... I know i know everyones dream job right??? maybe when they were cute and cuddly babies,,,but mine are all teenagers and well into puberty,,,i would much prefer to be outside of the house (grin) Tis true parenting begins at puberty.... I used to think that i would love to be home full time and all the things that i would do if i had the oppurtunity....nope dont interest me anymore (grin) to busy picking up wet towels and things i dont even want to describe in public...(sigh) i have all boys...lol Someone please tell me it gets better lol Heather
