banffgirl, I too was under the impression that this was a place to come where venting was safe to do. Where we could express our feelings no matter what they were and support each other with understanding and compassion. Not everything is sweetness and light--there is a lot of pain, confusion, disappointment, frustration, fear and oh yes even anger that must find a release somewhere. So, as far as my opinion goes--you go right ahead and vent, rant, release. I'm sure that there are still alot of people who will still support and understand, myself among them, for what it's worth. And that is how we will cope, with the support of each other.... Take care, Kathy

Hi Kathy. The problem is many of us already feel upset, and the less we do, the worse we feel. Many of us feel depressed because we feel like everything is beyond our control. If we sit around thinking of how our lives are different, that we'll never be the same, we won't suddenly get hit by a wave of happiness and joy someday. GG is right: people need to look for things they can do, no matter what it is. We need to do things that develop us as people, instead of focusing on the epilepsy. For years I bought into the philosophy of examining feelings and thinking that when my feelings changed, I would achieve more. Uh uh. This is backwards: how we feel matters less than what we do. Feelings of fear, disappointment, anxiety, etc will always be there, but what matters is our reactions.
