It could be the medication. It could be hormone related. Make sure they are on a good diet and vitamins.check out the grouphttp://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/EpilepsyApproach/Lisa

Hi, I clicked on that B12 fingernails link in another post,,,and after reading it went out that night and bought some sublingual b12. It has only been I think about 2 weeks , but my husband and I both notice a substantial change in my mood swings/ irritablitly. I also sleep better. I thought it would help my energy level raise, but maybe that will come with more time. According to the fingernail test, my body is very depleted of b12. You can tell by looking at the base of your nails where there are supposed to be " half moons" or "crescent moons", can't remember, but anyway I had none, only on my thumbnails, which the article said are the last to go. You can buy the b12 sublinguals at wal-mart, I got the extra strength ones. Worth a try , and good luck.
