lamictal medicine

Hi, my son will be starting this medicine called lamictal. Has anyone had it before, it sounds like okay medicine just seeing what i have to watch out for besides the rash. Has anybody had a mood change in thierselves or kids. I'm always worried about medicine theres just to much bad things now in days, but i'm hoping this will help him out.

You can also look it up using the generic name: lamotrigine. My daughter is on this medication. The dosage is raised slowly to the target dose so there is less chance of rash. It can be more common to get a bit hyper on it but my child doesn't have that reaction. She can lose her appetite after some increases, it comes back (mostly), don't think that is a common side effect. Everyone really is different on these drugs. Ps - this is one of those drugs where some people care about different reactions between generics, so switching manufacturers might matter. E.g. my child takes the Teva generic and they recently tried to switch her to Zydus? but they sourced enough of the Teva to fill her script. I would rather switch to brand then start switching between different generics but ymmv.
