DOOSE SYNDROME

Hi! my 5 yr daugther was diagnosed with Doose Syndrome (Myoclonic Astatic Epilepsy). Can anyone help me in getting information about this syndrome? It seems that there is not too much information or I am not looking in the correct places. I will appreciate any orientation on this. Thanks...Jorge.

My 3yr old possible has this. The dr. said all his symptoms point in that direction. He has 5-20 drop attacks daily. He is on 3 different meds 3 time a day and still having attacks. This all started back in september. We are now getting ready to start the Ketogenic Diet. From what we have read it is one of the best treatments if meds don't work. Oh and the Genetic testing came back neg. but only 30% of the kids that have it come back positive.

I've seen it mentioned in some of the Lennox Gastaut articles I've been reading as the symptoms are similar. There is a msn discussion group that I've seen http://groups.msn.com/doosesyndrome as well as a website www.doosesyndrome.com You've probably seen both. I will keep you in mind when I'm reading .... and will let you know if I find anything.
