Hi! my 5 yr daugther was diagnosed with Doose Syndrome (Myoclonic Astatic Epilepsy). Can anyone help me in getting information about this syndrome? It seems that there is not too much information or I am not looking in the correct places. I will appreciate any orientation on this. Thanks...Jorge.

Hello Jorge, First - here is a link for a parent support group for children who have Doose Syndrome, otherwise known as Myoclonic-Astatic Epilepsy and also explained under Cryptogenic and Idiopathic Generalized Epilepsies. Doose Syndrom Support Group Here are some links I'm looking up now and I'll post anymore I find on this thread as I find them... Epilepsy Syndromes : This one also explains the role EEG's have in these syndromes. MAE Website :The MAE website for parents of those with Doose Syndrome. I'll try to find more that doesn't repeat itself like the majority on the net does. Hope this helps some. Take care! -Spiz

Hi. I had a bit of a hunt. I think there is more informaion if you searchunder the 'myoclonic astatic epilepsy, which I think is the alternative name for Doose syndromes. The first link I think loks the most informative. www.doosesyndrome.com www.epilepsy.org.uk/info/astatic.html www.ilae-epilepsy.org/ctf/myoclonic_astatic_child.html www.epilepsyontario.org/client/EO/EOWeb.nsf/web/Epileptic+Syndromes+in+Childhood good luck - Michtom
