Hi  xgi here from michigan. I'm retired AF E6. I see we got a place for vets with epilepsy. I've had epilepsy for 20 years now after I was injured on active duty. Does anyone use VA nerou care??  like to chat with other vets to see how the handle their sezuires as well.  God bless our troops.........x

I just was forced into an early medical retirement (Epilepsy) i was offered 60 percent of e-4 over 6 and no severance package even thow i had a line number and it was pass my sew on day 4 e- 5 any way i took the 60 percent and filed a va compensation claim and it has been some time & have not heard 1 damn thing all i receive is my af pension and i am having trouble finding a job in my area due to my condition. i have bills that are backing up juggling utilitie bills because i cannot pay them as well i just had a newborn child and i cannot seem to get an answer from the va! DID I SCREW MYSELF FOR ONLY TAKING 60 PERCENT, should i have gotten a lawyer? do i need 1 now ? how long does it take for the va to decide ? and when they do what percentage will i get if any?

please if any one out there has any information or experience they would like 2 share i could really use the advise or  any information is better than none contact me please i just don't know what 2 do!!

Sweetn I went through the same thing. I'd get a lawyer. With YOUR seizures you cannot work. You should be fighting for 100& due to the unemployment issue. I would suggest a lawyer cause VA will take their time this I know for a fact. Maybe contact your local DAV rep. Good luck........x

how you doing falcon with your case???

Definately see a DAV rep.  I'm a life member, and they have helped me more than I can even tell you.  A lawyer can never hurt, either.  I know of several in my area (Washington state) who will begin working for a generally small retainer fee, then charge later.  A variance on "pro-bono".  You did not screw yourself, because you can appeal a board decision at almost any time.  If your percentage is increased, it may go back to when they made to origional decision.  That was my case, and that opened me up to back pay.  At the very least, talk to the DAV service officer.  They're available at any VA hospital, and probably even have chapters around town in your area.
