Howdy vets

Sun, 05/18/2008 - 09:59
Hi  xgi here from michigan. I'm retired AF E6. I see we got a place for vets with epilepsy. I've had epilepsy for 20 years now after I was injured on active duty. Does anyone use VA nerou care??  like to chat with other vets to see how the handle their sezuires as well.  God bless our troops.........x

Well my case was strange but first off let me tell you keep good records. I kept copys of all my sezuire stuff. Anyway I had no luck with military docs. Went to wright patt and seen a couple docs there but still had sezuires. All they ever did was cram more pills down my throat. After I reitred 18.5yrs. An early retirement due to base closure. Got all my beenies but AF wanted to discharged me with nothing after 17yrs. I fought and now have whatever benefits are left.

Now 100% permanent disabled due to epilepsy and unemployable. I don't drive so it makes it hard for me to get around so I use my bike when I can. I miss driving my truck though

I kinds of miss active duty lot of good friends . I had a pretty good boss last few years so it wasn't too bad but sure wish I could have stayed a while longer. Good luck to you and email me at outdoorone@hotmail.com  if you want to chat. Good luck and God bless our troops.....x

HEY XGI!

Well, my board resluts came back today!  what a joke1  13 years of faithful freaking service and i'm told that i'm only worth 20% and a discharge.  Screw 'em....i'm taking it.  I'm tired of the game.  that's what they want anyway.  I'm tired of the fight.  I have the skills necessary to compete in the real world.  What I don't understand is that my cc recommended retirement (that would require 30%) and they came back with the lousy 20% and severance pay! what a kick in the ass!  They used diagnostic code 8914 from the VASRD.  That's the code for psychomotor epilepsies...i don't understand that either, as i'm diagnosed w/complex partial epilepsy with secondary generalized seizures.  I'm not really certain i understand what they mean by psychomotor.  it was all a game.  They didn't even have all of my info.  the drug information was all wrong, i'm still in work up...what a mess.  i'm done...DONE...ready to move on.  If I fight, it'll just drag on longer.  I'm tired of the limbo status...oh well.  I hope by accepting these results that I'm not screwing myself later on down the road.

Falcon STOP don't take this. This is the crap they offered me. You were injured while on active duty. You should be retired medically. You need to get a laywer. This is bullshit.

you didn't have seizures when you came in so the it happen while you were on active duty. If you take this you will screw yourself. they offered me 40 grand and 30% i fought and now I'm 100% with full benefits.

You need to fight what is yours.......x
