New to the site-new to seizures

Fri, 01/26/2007 - 10:31
I am being impatient, I know, but somebody please read my post in the new to epilepsy section. I didn't think I should put the whole thing in here as well, but thought that maybe I chose to put it in the wrong section in the first place. I kind of feel like the lone ranger trying to figure out what is going on with my daughter, and it would just make me feel better if somebody...anybody would read and respond. I think she was experiencing some bad side effects from her Trileptal last night (belly ache making her cry for 45 minutes and a flushed face) and I am nervous about giving it to her this morning. I know I have to, but I am scared of it hurting her again. She has been having "seizures" for a year now, but we are new to Trileptal and it is all just starting to sink in. Mom is feeling a little stressed and panicked.

My daughter is on Trileptal as well. I didn't know that it could cause tummy aches! I've been think my daughter was just trying to get attention, or getting sick all the time, but this might explain alot! Thanks for this post! By the way, My daughter is 3, she's had seizures since a febrile grand mal in 2004 that lasted 3 1/2 hours. she can have up to 5 seizures per day depending on if she's getting sick. other than that, we have no idea what triggers them or how to stop them. It's scary and lonely. My husband, who is not me daughter's biological father, doesn't worry with me and barely blinks an eye when I'm scared or worried. It's aweful and lonely and scary. I could use the support as well... We'll get it. we just need to be paient and pray everyday. Much love. ~Debi~
