I dont know where to start

Hi everyone, I just found this site and am so happy to know there are other people who are going thru what i am going thru as a parent. Im sorry we have to go thru it though. My son is 3 1/2 he had seizures as a 2 week old, they determined they were caused by encephilitis. so we figured once that was cleared up he'd be seizure free. They put him on Phenobarb for about 6 months and he had been seizure free until about a month ago. We were driving home from lunch and i heard a grunting in the back of the car, my son was having a grand mal seizure. I never thought I'd see that ever again. I was so shocked. Thank God my husband was with me. Unfortunately my daughter had to see it and my reaction. She still talks about it....alot. Little history.....my son has PDD-NOS-Pervasive Developmental Disorder Not Otherwise Specified. He has had PT and OT since he was 6 months old. I believe now from the seizures and the Phenobarb. He has sensory integration disorder also, and still gets OT and now gets speech. He does not speak well but he does try. His social skills are lacking and Im scared that he is going to be pushed away from society even more now that he has been diagnosed with Epilepsy. He is currently on Trileptal, which i think seriously affects his mood and his behavior. He is so aggressive now and gets so fixated on a certain issue at hand he doesn't separate the reality from his reality. I dont know if that makes any sense its just how we see it. I also feel he is not sleeping well at night, does anyone have a video monitor in their childs bedroom to monitor how they sleep or if they have seizures at night? We are thinking of doing that, but now sure how insane that would be!!! Anyway, would appreciate any advice or comfort anyone would like to give. Thanks for reading. Dee

Hi Debi, I see your daughter was diagnosed in July. So was my son. He is 11. He has been diagnosed w/gen. tonic-clonic and had been taking Keppra until last week when he also started on Depakote. We are still in the midst of working out meds. How have you guys been doing with what you've been prescribed and how does your daughter seem to be handling it all. I also will be looking into a night camera to monitor sleeping. Thanks, Kim
