BRE diag w/out text book eeg

Tue, 12/05/2006 - 11:17
Hi, I wondered if anyone knows or has been diagnosed with Benign Rolandic when the eeg does not have typical pattern? I have talked to one mom who told me her daughters eeg also did not fit the pattern but she did out grow her seizures. What else do they look for. I am not sure it is that cut and dry, but would love any imput you have. Mar

I definitely think you

I definitely think you should go to a specialist. Everything you describe sounds like BRE (the description of the seizure, the timing etc.). It would be better for your peace of mind to get a definite diagnosis. Also, if it is BRE, then it is a really good prognosis. I know that my daughter's EEG was not textbook BOCE but our specialist knew and has seen enough to still be able to diagnosis it. I really hope you can get into one soon. There is a thread in this site listing different docs that are good. I have added you to my buddy list. Hopefully we can chat. YOu can add me (if you want) by clicking on your name and it will ask if you want to add me. Take care.
